EDITORIAL IDENTITY: The Greater Worcester Community Foundation

We partnered with the Foundation to create a custom visual system, visual standards guide for communications staff, custom annual report photography, and dynamic layout.

Editorial Style Guide

We harnessed all the colors of the GWCF palette to create a visual standards guide for printed and digital communications materials. Also included in the guide are best practices for typography, iconography and layout too!

Custom Pattern

Using all the town boundary lines in Worcester County, we created a seamless, custom, flexible pattern to adapt and use across all communications, unifying visual collateral.

Better together. The 2023 GWCF report combines our long experience in editorial photography with a keen sense for combining storytelling with design.

I happened upon this quote years ago when I was working as a photo editor, and it has been hanging on my office wall ever since. Visual branding is visceral. Before your potential client reads a word about you ... they SEE you! We shop with our eyes, and make decisions in a split second. It starts with your story, and the connections you make with clients. As small business owners, how we make our clients feel is priority #1. 

I'm Katye Brier, and I have worked in the visual communications field for 20+ years as a photographer, editor and designer. I was trained at Syracuse University and The Rhode Island School of Design, where I continue to expand my skill set and ignite inspiration.

I love experimenting with typography and wordplay, and using unconventional, analog techniques to create custom, high-end digital and print collateral.

FEATURED PROJECT

This rebrand was for a Mid-Atlantic music school, performance venue and non-profit organization. The project goal was to "reign in" existing mis-matched marketing materials with a cohesive voice, and to create new print collateral, merchandise, website and social media tiles.
