The Travelin' Photogs: United Kingdom

Sep 09, 2025

Cheerio daaahlings ... It has been TOO long since Maple & Main hit the road, let alone the runway. So this time we packed up the boys, made a right, and drove on the left ;) We started out in London, then hit the road for the Cotswalds. More to come, but for now — The Pictures!

New here.

Apr 21, 2024

There were some big paws to fill after we lost our beloved Buddy last summer. In his last few months, Buddy was so chill and slow, that he would plant himself in the center of the lawn long enough for the boys to use him as 2nd base in their games of whiffle ball. Cutest 2nd base ever. We are so lucky to have had this character in our lives. He will always be our first son.Enter Bear. He's new here. And he is all PUPPY. Adopted from Great Dog Rescue New England, this boy arrived from Tennessee ...

The Travelin' Photogs: Thailand

Apr 09, 2024

A trip to Bangkok is not a trip to Thailand. In the way that a trip to NYC is not a trip to America. Both awesome cities, both a small taste of what lies beyond. Our first stop in Thailand was to Kanchanaburi and Erawan Falls, a 7-tiered system of waterfalls and pools experienced via a three-mile hike – and swim! Watch out for monkeys, snakes and Water Monitors (a Water Monitor is not a lifeguard. It's basically a Komodo Dragon – or a small dinosaur.) Our next stop was to the ...

The Travelin' Photogs: Angkor Wat

Apr 04, 2024

Welcome to the 8th Wonder of the World. Angkor Wat recently earned this accolade, "beating" Pompeii as an addition to the list. What we didn't realize is that Angkor Wat is only ONE of SO MANY temples clustered in the heart of Cambodia, near the city of Siem Reap. Meticulous preservation and restoration work is ongoing at this nearly-1,000-year-old site, which translates to "City Temple". We spent two days here, one day exploring on foot, the next by bike. It was so hot. So so hot. Little did ...

The Travelin' Photogs: Cambodia

Apr 02, 2024

Sandwiched between two well-traveled countries – Thailand and Vietnam – Cambodia sits proud and poised for visitors. I'd like to say it's the best kept secret in Southeast Asia, but Cambodians want the secret out! Admittedly, I don't know if we would have travelled here if we didn't have family living in country. But despite the LONG journey to get there, and other destinations calling us, we would 100 percent visit Cambodia again. We started our journey in Phnom Penh, and then ...

The Cat Cafe

Apr 01, 2024

Step 1: Order a beverage. Step 2: Choose out a pair of new cat-themed socks to purchase (no outside foot funk here!). Step 3: Wash hands and purchase cat treats. Step 4: Enter cats' sunny lair for an upbeat treat!Get comfy on a floor cushion and stay as long as you like while your new, ambivalent friends cooly acknowledge your presence. Why is this not a thing in America? We are dog people, but thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience at The Cat Cafe in Phnom Penh, ...

In Search of Lousy Weather

Jun 05, 2023

Meet the family who chases Winter. The family who leaves a promising New England April in search of MORE ICE. Whose heat tolerance tops out around 75 degrees. This was actually the best weather in Iceland we have ever experienced ... (out of two visits to date.) We revisited some favorite spots – including hopping right off the plane and into the nearby Blue Lagoon – and discovered some new ones. We touched the new Earth of the recently-active Fagradalsfjall volcano, and ...

New Normal

Aug 02, 2021

Day One. 10-11am. Family walk time – according to one of the myriad suggested COVID-19 home-school schedules we found online. I can see how this sentiment will change, but this walk felt like a vacation to an alternate dimension. Cars in driveways, empty streets, amateur gardeners out getting dirty, the scream sound of a table saw improving a neighbor’s house – not the typical sights and sounds of a late Winter Monday morning. In addition to our P.E. requirement, we swung by ...

15 Business Days

Jan 15, 2021

It’s been nearly four years since I traded a Metro pass for an EZ Pass. After nearly twelve years as a photography and multimedia editor in Washington D.C., my family and I decided to head to New England – taking an entrepreneurial spirit along with us. More peace, less “pace”.I celebrated my last "business days" in by documenting what going to work had looked like for so long. (This quickly turned into a thrilling study in how to not annoy fellow ...

Sand House

Jan 15, 2021

Jones Beach, 1947. My grandfather was a photographer too. (If he had taken any other career path, I'm certain I would not be here writing this post today.) He wasn't a journalist, but he wrote captions as if he was filing assignments for a very thorough picture editor. Captions for us to find.He left a trove of slides with decades of "coverage" from his life. And on almost every slide, a date and a description. This one, scribbled in tiny letters on the photo above, is one of my favorites ...
